A somber day of remembrance and reflection

The Attacks of September 11, 2001

On the morning of September 11, 2001, 19 Al-Qaeda terrorists hijacked four commercial airliners. Two of the planes were flown into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, one into the Pentagon in Washington, D.C., and the fourth crashed into a field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania after passengers and crew members attempted to regain control of the plane.

The attacks resulted in the deaths of nearly 3,000 people from over 90 countries. The majority of the victims were civilians, including office workers, airline passengers, and emergency responders.

The Aftermath of 9/11

The 9/11 attacks had a profound impact on the United States and the world. In the immediate aftermath of the attacks, there was a surge of patriotism and unity. People from all walks of life came together to support the victims and their families, and to help rebuild the affected communities.
